Sub Chief Minister Mr. Arun Saw stern on poor quality construction, two officials from the Public Works Department suspended, provide reasons notice
Principal Engineer’s Office, Public Works Department, Construction Building, New Raipur Atal Nagar. Both will be eligible for subsistence allowance during the suspension period. The Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department has been instructed to prepare accusation letters against both officials within 15 days and provide them to the government.
The Public Works Department issued a notice to Mr. A.K. Verma, the immediate past project engineer of Korba division, and Mr. R.N. Dubey, the sub-divisional officer of Korba, for the reasons for the substandard work and non-compliance with quality standards during the paving of the Chotiya-Chirmiri road without adhering to the standards. The notice issued by the government to both officials stated that the average thickness of the damming during the inspection was low, and the density of the work done was also found to be low. Both officials misused their authority by doing substandard work and paving without adhering to quality standards, which clearly demonstrates gross negligence, indifference, and arbitrariness towards their duties. The government, considering it as serious misconduct under the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1965, issued a notice to both officials to provide reasons. They have been given a deadline of seven days to submit their response to the notice. If the response is not received within the stipulated period, unilateral action will be taken according to the rules.
