Solar home lights to brighten education opportunities in remote villages of Konta block
Bright future for children, Bastar’s inclusive development a top priority: Shri Sai
Raipur 29 February 2024// Demonstrating the state government’s commitment to the welfare of residents in remote areas, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai distributed solar home lighting systems to 50 students from small hamlets in Konta block of Sukma district. The distribution took place at the Swami Vivekananda Airport premises in Raipur on Thursday, aiming to empower these children and pave the way for their brighter future.
Addressing the students, Chief Minister Sai stressed the government’s dedication to ensuring a bright future for children. He stated, “It is the effort of our government to ensure that the future of children is bright. Chhattisgarh Government is committed to providing all facilities to the citizens of the tribal-dominated Bastar region and its inclusive development. In keeping with this spirit, we have launched Niyad Nella Naar – Apka Accha Gaon Yojana, aiming to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach tribal communities.”
Chief Minister Sai highlighted the government’s goal of providing essential amenities including roads, electricity, water, housing, and healthcare facilities in Bastar. Stressing the importance of education and accessibility to government schemes for tribal communities’ development he stated “There should be well-equipped schools for children’s education. Aadhar cards and ration cards should be issued to everyone, enabling our tribal population in remote areas to participate in mainstream development. The development of the Bastar region is important for building a ‘Viksit Chhattisgarh’.”
While providing solar home lighting systems to students from Sukma, Chief Minister Sai wished them a bright future, stating, “With the solar lights, you all will be able to study better.” He encouraged students to take full advantage of opportunities and learn as much as possible during their visit to Raipur.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma assured students of providing facilities for better education and encouraged them to study diligently under solar light.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sai distributed solar home lighting systems to 50 students from villages Purvarti, Silger, and Tekalguda of the Konta development block in Sukma district. The kit comprises a 200-watt solar panel, a 12.28-volt battery, 05 LED lights, a DC fan, a DTH, and a mobile charging unit.
Jagdalpur MLA Shri Kiran Singhdeo, Nitin Nabin Sinha, and other public representatives, along with Chief Minister’s Secretary P. Dayanand, CREDA Chief Executive Officer Rajesh Singh Rana, and Raipur Collector Dr Gaurav Kumar Singh, were present on the occasion.
