Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the Shaheed Veer Budhu Bhagat Jayanti celebration and the annual convention of the Oraon community in Dadatoli village under the Manora development block in Jashpur on Saturday. He announced several development projects, which include the construction of a community hall worth Rs. 30 lakh in Dadatoli village, providing an ambulance to Manora Community Health Centre (CHC), approval for the construction of the government college in Manora, the establishment of an additional collector’s court, and the appointment of an additional SP in Pathalgaon.
Chief Minister Shri Sai also shared that the state government has made provisions in the budget for the year 2024–25 to construct a hospital in Kunkuri with 220 beds. The government is making efforts to upgrade the 30-bed hospital in Manora and to construct a community hall in Jashpur. The Chief Minister assured that, as per the demand of the Oraon community, the process of land allocation for the community hall in Dadatoli will be completed soon. Chief Minister Shri Sai highlighted that the President of India is a woman belonging to the tribal community. Prime Minister Shri Modi entrusted the responsibility of the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh to a common worker like him belonging to the tribal community. During the tenure of the former Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Ministry of Tribal Welfare was formed for the holistic development of the tribal community.
Chief Minister Shri Sai shared that he has requested the Prime Minister to attend the program organised for Mahtari Vandan Yojana and transfer the first instalment of Rs 1,000 into the bank accounts of mothers and sisters on March 7 and 8. He also announced that more than 24 lakh farmers will receive the difference amount for paddy procurement on March 12. They will receive an amount of Rs. 917 per quintal as the difference in paddy procurement. The state government has completed the verification process for 72 lakh applications under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. The Chhattisgarh Government has spent only two and a half months in office. During this short period, the state government has taken several initiatives for the upliftment of all sections of society. The cabinet has sanctioned houses for 18 lakh families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. On the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, December 25, the state government transferred the pending amount of Rs. 3,716 crore for paddy procurement into the accounts of more than 12 lakh farmers. This year, a record procurement of approximately 145 lakh metric tonnes of rice has been made at support prices in the state. The government has also decided to conduct a CBI investigation into the PSC examination of 2021. With the upcoming tendupatta season, the state government has decided to procure tendupatta at Rs. 5,500 per standard beg. The Chhattisgarh Government will also reintroduce the Charan Paduka scheme for tendupatta collectors.
The Chief Minister stated, “February 17 was observed as the birth anniversary of revolutionary Veer Budhu Bhagat. I was on a journey to Delhi on that date. Due to this, I could not attend the celebration. I sincerely apologise to all of you for this. I am very pleased to be among the Oraon community today. You all have welcomed me warmly, and I will remain grateful to all of you. I am very happy to meet all of you. I am one of you”. He shared that the Oraon community has a glorious history. The king of the Oraon community in Rohtasgarh fought against the Mughals, and women also participated in it. The Chief Minister remembered the contribution of freedom fighters, including Budhu Bhagat, who was a legendary freedom fighter against the British. He recalled the remarkable contribution of Shri Kartik Oraon, the pride of the community, who served as a Member of Parliament during the tenure of Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi. His contribution to the development of the community has been unparalleled. The Chief Minister urged the people of the community to educate their children and emphasised that education is the key to development and that comprehensive development of society is only possible through education.
Chief Minister said, “The younger generation is highly susceptible to substance abuse, and we as a family need to combat these. The state government is also taking action against the drug traffickers”.
Addressing the program, Jashpur MLA Smt. Raymuni Bhagat stated, ”It is a matter of pride for all of us that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has joined us today. We have consistently benefited from his guidance over time”.
Rajya Sabha MP Kumar Devendra Pratap Singh stated that the tribal community is very organised and has a glorious history. He stressed that the community needs to pay special attention to the education of children. He remembered the contribution of the late Dilip Singh Judev of Jashpur to the development of the region. MLA Pathalgaon Smt Gomati Sai, Zilla Panchayat President Smt Shanti Bhagat, Prince Yashpratap Singh Judev, Kumar Vikramaditya Singh Judev, former MLA Shri Rajsharan Bhagat, and other dignitaries were present.
